  • Multi-Region playback for DVD and Blu-ray

This feature of our enhanced firmware allows you to adjust the DVD and Blu-ray region settings of your Panasonic™ Blu-ray device.

By applying a special remote control button sequence with the original Panasonic™ remote control, you can set the DVD device region (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) and the Blu-ray device region (A,B,C).

In addition to adjusting region settings, the remote control button sequence also deactivates DVD region verification, which allows most region locked DVDs to play without having to change the DVD device region, while at the same time providing the ability to adjust the DVD device region manually if required for specific RCE protection scenarios.

Please read our FAQ section about region verification for more information about region verification for DVD and Blu-ray.

Apply the following remote control button sequence to adjust the DVD and Blu-ray region settings of your Panasonic™ Blu-ray device:

can be one of the following remote control buttons:

to set the device to DVD region 1
to set the device to DVD region 2
to set the device to DVD region 3
to set the device to DVD region 4
to set the device to DVD region 5
to set the device to DVD region 6
to set the device to DVD region 7
to set the device to DVD region 8

can be one of the following remote control buttons:

to set the device to Blu-ray region A
to set the device to Blu-ray region B
to set the device to Blu-ray region C

Example 1: The following remote control button sequence will set the region settings of your device to

DVD region 1 / Blu-ray region C with DVD region verification disabled

Example 2: The following remote control button sequence will set the region settings of your device to

DVD region 5 / Blu-ray region A with DVD region verification disabled

    Notes:

If you are using a touch pad remote control without number keys, activate the on-screen number pad with thebutton on your remote control before you apply our special button sequences
    .

The device will restart itself after each complete remote control button sequence to acknowledge sequence recognition. This is part of the normal operation !

  • Encapsulation of advanced features within the Advanced feature collection

This feature of our enhanced firmware provides a single remote control button sequence to collectively enable or disable advanced features for enhanced firmware.

Apply one of the following remote control button sequences to adjust the status of the Advanced feature collection:

to enable all features within the Advanced feature collection or

to disable all features within the Advanced feature collection

    Notes:

If you are using a touch pad remote control without number keys, activate the on-screen number pad with thebutton on your remote control before you apply our special button sequences
    .

The device will restart itself after each complete remote control button sequence to acknowledge sequence recognition. This is part of the normal operation !

  • Country code selection

This feature of our enhanced firmware allows you to override the default mechanism for determining the country code setting of your Panasonic™ Blu-ray device and play DVD and Blu-ray discs which require specific country code settings. Sometimes disc publishers abuse this setting to impose additional access restrictions on top of standard region locking.

Please read our FAQ section about the difference between region code and country code for more information.

Country code overriding is part of the Advanced feature collection. Its status is determined by the status of the Advanced feature collection:

Advanced feature collection enabled -> Country code overriding enabled -> The device will use your country code selection.

Advanced feature collection disabled -> Country code overriding disabled -> The device will use the default mechanism for determining the country code (Factory behavior)

Apply the following remote control button sequence to adjust the country code of your Panasonic™ Blu-ray device:

is an activation code from our Country code list.

Example 1: The following remote control button sequence will set the country code of your device to

United States of America (ISO code: "US" / Activation code: 63634)

Example 2: The following remote control button sequence will set the country code of your device to

Japan (ISO code: "JP" / Activation code: 56231)

    Notes:

If you are using a touch pad remote control without number keys, activate the on-screen number pad with thebutton on your remote control before you apply our special button sequences
    .

The device will restart itself after each complete remote control button sequence to acknowledge sequence recognition. This is part of the normal operation !

  • DVD UOP (User Operation Prohibition) deactivation

This feature of our enhanced firmware deactivates UOP (User Operation Prohibition) processing for DVD playback on your Panasonic™ Blu-ray device.

UOP is a mechanism which allows DVD publishers to restrict the possible user activity during DVD video playback. This can include restrictions like prohibition from turning off forced subtitles, prohibition from pausing video, etc. With our UOP deactivation feature UOP processing on the device is completely deactivated and you regain full control because the prohibitions are no longer applied.

UOP deactivation is part of the Advanced feature collection.

Its status is determined by the status of the Advanced feature collection:

Advanced feature collection enabled -> UOP deactivation enabled -> The device will not apply UOPs

Advanced feature collection disabled -> UOP deactivation disabled -> The device will apply UOPs (Factory behavior)

  • Blu-ray PUO (Prohibited User Operation) deactivation

This feature of our enhanced firmware deactivates PUO (Prohibited User Operation) processing for Blu-ray playback on your Panasonic™ Blu-ray device.

PUO is (just like UOP for DVD video playback) a mechanism which allows Blu-ray publishers to restrict the possible user activity during Blu-ray playback. This can include restrictions like prohibition from turning off forced subtitles, prohibition from pausing video, etc. With our PUO deactivation feature PUO processing on the device is completely deactivated and you regain full control because the prohibitions are no longer applied.

PUO deactivation is part of the Advanced feature collection.

Its status is determined by the status of the Advanced feature collection:

Advanced feature collection enabled -> PUO deactivation enabled -> The device will not apply PUOs

Advanced feature collection disabled -> PUO deactivation disabled-> The device will apply PUOs (Factory behavior)

  • Cinavia™ free operation

This feature of our enhanced firmware allows you to operate your device without Cinavia™ audio watermark detection.

Cinavia™ audio watermark detection deactivation is part of the Advanced feature collection.

Its status is determined by the status of the Advanced feature collection:

Advanced feature collection enabled -> Cinavia™ audio watermark detection deactivation enabled -> Cinavia™ audio watermarks will not be detected

Advanced feature collection disabled -> Cinavia™ audio watermark detection deactivation disabled -> Cinavia™ availability depends on model number and firmware version (Factory behavior)

  • PAL support

This feature of our enhanced firmware removes the restriction to NTSC-only playback from American Panasonic™ Blu-ray devices (PAL media playback on Panasonic™ Blu-ray devices requires a PAL capable display device).

PAL support overriding is part of the Advanced feature collection.

Its status is determined by the status of the Advanced feature collection:

Advanced feature collection enabled -> PAL support overriding enabled -> The device will support PAL

Advanced feature collection disabled -> PAL support overriding disabled -> PAL support depends on device model (Factory behavior)

  • Stock firmware feature upgrade

This feature of our enhanced firmware removes functionality restrictions and unlocks available features for all supported device models.

Stock firmware feature upgrade is part of the Advanced feature collection.

Its status is determined by the status of the Advanced feature collection:

Advanced feature collection enabled -> Stock firmware feature upgrade enabled -> All stock firmware features will be available for all supported device models.

Advanced feature collection disabled -> Stock firmware feature upgrade disabled -> Feature restrictions apply (Factory behavior)
